Every cell you own runs on NAD+, nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide. It powers your mitochondria and it switches on the sirtuins, the repair genes that fix DNA damage while you sleep. From your mid-twenties, you make less of it. Not suddenly, and not in a way you notice at first. What you notice is the effect. The 3pm crash. The fatigue and brain fog creeping in more and more often.
By the time you are 50, your levels of NAD+ have declined by 50%. Less NAD+ means less mitochondrial energy, and a body that runs out before the day does.

You cannot simply take NAD+. The molecule is too large to cross into the cell intact, which is why oral NAD+ products do not work the way they are sold.
NMN, nicotinamide mononucleotide, is the precursor your body already uses. A vitamin B3 derivative that converts to NAD+ in a single enzymatic step.
Take NMN, a molecule related to vitamin B3.
Your body uses NMN to produce NAD+.
NAD+ plays a role in essential processes within your cells.

The comparison
Every brand publishes this comparison and every one concludes in favour of what it sells. Here is ours, including the option we do not sell.
| Option | What it is | Route to NAD+ | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| NMN | Direct NAD+ precursor | One enzymatic step | About £2 a day, less on subscription. |
| NR | One step further back | Converts to NMN first then NAD+ | Similar. |
| Oral NAD+ | The whole molecule | Too large to cross into the cell intact | Money for nothing. |
| NAD+ IV drip | Infused directly | Bypasses digestion, only effective for 1 day of NAD+ spike | £250 to £800 a session. |
Why your last NMN did nothing
Two things go wrong with NMN supplements. The first is that a lot of what is sold as NMN is not NMN. When an independent team assayed 18 brands for a 2024 paper in GeroScience, 16 failed to match what was printed on the label. Some products on the market contain none at all, and carry thousands of five star reviews from people who could not have known.
The second is heat. First generation NMN is a fragile molecule. It breaks down into ordinary nicotinamide when it meets warmth, moisture and light, which is exactly what a shipping container and a summer warehouse provide. A batch can leave the factory at 99% and arrive as something far less potent, with the label still saying 99%.
That is the whole reason we use a second generation, thermostable NMN and test every batch. And it is why most of our customers notice something inside the first 2–3 weeks rather than wondering for a year whether they spent their money on another supplement that doesn’t work.
Our NMN is second generation and thermostable, meaning that it’s held for six months at 40°C and maintains its potency without degrading.

Customer reviews
“I started NMN because my energy was becoming noticeably less reliable, especially in the afternoon. After the first month, my boyfriend noticed that I’m not tired in the evenings anymore. The difference is not a stimulant rush; I simply feel more capable of sustaining my day, and not feeling the decrease in energy after 3pm.”
NMN 500 mg
“I had previously tried a cheaper NMN product and felt very little. With NMN Bio, I began noticing more alertness and energy after the first week. The third-party testing and UK manufacturing were what convinced me to try it, but the consistency is what made me reorder. I’ve been on monthly subscription for over a year, and this is my go to supplement for maintaining my energy levels.”
NMN 500 mg
“I’m 42 and train 3 times a week. Since adding NMN 500 mg, the most noticeable difference has been faster recovery, and being able to push at every workout. I still do the fundamentals, but this has become one of the few supplements I take every morning without forgetting.”
NMN 500 mg
“I didn’t suddenly feel ten years younger. What I noticed was more practical: I wasn’t tired anymore. After stopping for 2 weeks, I noticed that I feel different, and exhausted at the end of the day, which convinced me it had been contributing more than I realised.”

NMN Answers
Straight answers about NMN, from purity and stability to dose, timing and common safety questions.
Most people who stop taking NMN do so because they felt nothing, and the cause is usually the product rather than the molecule. When an independent team assayed 18 NMN brands for a 2024 paper in GeroScience, 16 of them failed to match what was printed on the label. First generation NMN also degrades into ordinary nicotinamide when it meets heat and moisture in transit, so a bottle can arrive at a fraction of its stated purity with the label unchanged. Cost is the second most common reason, and it tends to surface only once the first has gone unanswered.
Most people taking a pure, stable NMN supplement notice something inside the first bottle, usually between day four and day twelve, and the afternoon slump is normally the first thing to go. Blood NAD+ begins rising within about two weeks, which is not something you feel directly. Recovery and sleep quality tend to follow across weeks eight to twelve. These are experiences our customers report rather than a guaranteed outcome, and individual results vary.
Check the certificate of analysis for the batch in your bottle. Every batch of NMN Bio’s NMN is assayed by an independent UK laboratory for identity, purity and contaminants before it is released, and we email you the certificate for your own batch after your order ships, carrying the lot number printed on the base of your bottle. Relabelled nicotinamide is a genuine problem in this category, and a certificate tied to a specific lot is the only way to rule it out.
Ordinary NMN does. It is heat sensitive and hygroscopic, and it converts into plain nicotinamide when exposed to warmth, moisture and light, which is precisely what a shipping container in summer provides. The conversion is invisible, so nothing about the bottle tells you it has happened. NMN Bio uses a second generation, thermostable NMN held through six months of accelerated stability testing at 40°C, the standard condition used to simulate long periods of ordinary storage.
NMN and NR are both NAD+ precursors, and the difference is how far back in the pathway they sit. NMN converts to NAD+ in a single enzymatic step, while NR converts to NMN first and then to NAD+. The Cell Reports paper of our founder Dr Elena Seranova showed that NMN outperforms NR in every cytotoxicity assay, where cells are rescued from cell death significantly more with NMN. What is not in dispute is that oral NAD+ itself is too large a molecule to cross into the cell intact, so NAD+ capsules cannot work the way they are sold.
No. NMN is water soluble and absorbed rapidly from the small intestine, and plain capsules work. In a randomised trial published in GeroScience in 2023, oral NMN capsules at 300mg, 600mg and 900mg a day raised blood NAD+ over 60 days, the higher doses more than the lowest, alongside improved six minute walk distance. No liposome, no sublingual, no injection. The variable that genuinely matters is whether the powder inside the capsule is still NMN by the time it reaches you.
Human trials of NMN at supplement doses have not produced any safety concern signals, and most people taking 500mg report nothing beyond the reason they took it. A minority find it disturbs sleep when taken late in the day, which is one reason we recommend taking in the morning. The cancer question comes from cell and animal studies showing that raising NAD+ can support the metabolism of cells that are already malignant. No human trial shows that NMN causes or accelerates cancer at supplement doses, and none shows it is safe during active cancer treatment either. It’s a standard practice that doctors don’t recommend any vitamins B to cancer patients, and that is the case with NMN as well. If you are in treatment, do not take NMN unless your oncology team agrees.
Yes, in both. In the UK, NMN is sold as a food supplement, which is how you are buying it here. In the US, the FDA excluded NMN from the dietary supplement definition in 2022 on a technical argument about prior drug investigation rather than on any safety finding. It reversed that position in September 2025 and confirmed the reversal in letters to ingredient suppliers dated 2 December 2025. NMN can be lawfully sold in the United States.
500mg a day is the standard adult dose and the one most of our customers take. NMN 250 suits people who are starting out, under 35, or who would rather build up gradually. Published human trials have used doses from 250mg to 1.2 a day, with larger doses producing larger increases in blood NAD+. There is no advantage in exceeding the dose on the label.
Take one capsule in the morning on an empty stomach, before breakfast. NAD+ follows a daily rhythm and morning dosing works with it rather than against it. Timing also matters for sleep, since a minority of people find NMN taken late in the day makes it harder to drop off. If a fasted capsule feels uncomfortable, taking it with a small breakfast solves that without meaningfully affecting absorption.
Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before starting NMN if you take prescription medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or manage an existing medical condition. NMN is a food supplement and is not a substitute for prescribed treatment. Never stop or change a prescribed medication without medical advice.
NAD+ levels return gradually to whatever your own production sustains, so NMN works while you take it rather than banking a permanent change. People who stop usually describe the reverse of what they noticed when they started, over a few weeks. There is no withdrawal and nothing about stopping is harmful.
