NMN and Quercetin Human Clinical Trials
NMN has been proven safe in high dosages up to 1.2g a day in human clinical studies. Furthermore, multiple health benefits have been demonstrated in humans as well. A study in prediabetic, postmenopausal, obese, or overweight women showed that after 10 weeks of NMN supplementation, the volunteers had increased insulin sensitivity. Same study showed that NMN supplementation was able to stimulate the collagen production pathway, suggesting the compound's role in healthy aging (and appearance of skin). A study in elderly men over 65 showed that NMN supplementation protects against age-related muscle loss. Another study in healthy, adult volunteers of both sexes confirmed that NMN increases endurance, cardiovascular fitness and aerobic capacity in amateur runners. Quercetin has been proven safe in high doses up 1000mg to in human clinical studies, with a high number of studies showing no or few adverse effects and/ or toxicity. In one study, 84 patients with idiopathic hypertension and gout took 1000mg quercetin twice a day for 6 months and then 500mg twice a day for another 6 months (12 months in total). Results showed improvement of cardiac diastolic function, purine metabolism, renal function and normalization of blood pressure. Another study saw 50 women with rheumatoid arthritis who took 500mg quercetin a day for 8 weeks display lower plasma levels and lessened pain.

Berberine Human Clinical Trials
Maintaining a healthy body and healthy weight protects us from many illnesses. Managing blood sugar and ensuring you don’t develop insulin resistance is one of the most crucial things you can do for your longevity and increasing your healthspan (the amount of time you spend in good health over the course of your life).
There are tens of human clinical studies looking into diabetic patients and prediabetics, and how they respond to Berberine supplementation. Overall, findings show that Berberine is significantly improving markers related to blood sugar control like HbA1c, fasting plasma glucose and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose amongst others. Over this meta-analysis of 46 studies, Berberine demonstrated strong evidence of improving glycemic control and overall health in thousands of participants.
In a human study of 37 men and women with metabolic syndrome took 300 milligrams of Berberine, three times a day for three months. The study concluded that they all lost an average of two inches off their waist and their BMIs went from the obese to the overweight category.
In a recent study (2020), 900 people in China between the ages of 18-75 had polyps removed during a colonoscopy. They were randomly given either 300 milligrams of Berberine twice daily or a placebo. The participants were then followed up the first year and again, the second year. The study found that none of the participants developed colorectal cancer, however, the participants taking the Berberine had fewer recurrent polyps at 36%, compared to the placebo participants with 47%.

Should I break down the capsule for better absorption?
Dr David Sinclair and our founder Dr Elena Seranova don't bother and just take the capsule. There are actually no studies showing that sublingual powder or powder intake results in better absorption than the capsule.

What can amplify the effect of NMN supplementation?
Along with your NMN, take one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil in the morning. Oleic acid, one of the ingredients in olive oil, is also shown to activate the SIRTUINS, the so-called longevity genes.
